How do I use Nizoral® shampoo?
To treat dandruff, Nizoral can be used every 3-4 days for four weeks. To prevent dandruff from coming back, Nizoral can be used once every week or once every 2 weeks. For each use, apply a small amount (approx 6ml) of shampoo to a wet scalp.
Work into a lather and leave on the scalp for 3-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
If your scalp has not cleared within 4 weeks, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Can I use Nizoral if I am pregnant/ breastfeeding?
You can use Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Medicines can affect an unborn baby. Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine during pregnancy.

Can I use other hair care products while using Nizoral® shampoo?
You can use Nizoral shampoo twice a week as part of your usual hair routine, if you want to wash your hair a few more times that week, you can use your favourite shampoo. You'll find Nizoral is gentle enough to work on all hair types.
To treat dandruff, use Nizoral twice a week for four weeks and then once a week, every 2 weeks for dandruff prevention.
Do I need to wash my hair with a conventional shampoo directly before or after the treatment with Nizoral® ?
You can use Nizoral shampoo twice a week as part of your usual hair routine if you want to wash your hair a few more times that week, you can use your favourite shampoo.

Does Nizoral® work also against my itchy scalp even if have no dandruff?
Nizoral is a medicinal shampoo to treat dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis with flaking and itching. If dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis is not the cause of your symptoms, you should consult your dermatologist.
Can children or babies use Nizoral® shampoo?
No. Nizoral® is only for use for adults and adolescents from the age of 12 years.
Does Nizoral help with folliculitus?
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo contains ketoconazole, an antifungal that targets an increased number of yeasts on the skin called Malassezia. Although bacterial folliculitis is caused by a bacteria called staphylococcus aureus, so please do not use Nizoral in this instance.
Can I use Nizoral if I have psoriasis?
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo should only be applied to the scalp and used to treat and prevent dandruff.
Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo is used for the prevention and treatment of scalp conditions dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis.
Nizoral 2% Shampoo is used for the prevention and treatment of infections in which the yeast Malassezia (previously called Pityrosporum) is likely to be involved, such as dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis. Also for the treatment of tinea (pityriasis) Versicolor.
We cannot recommend Nizoral products to be used for psoriasis. Before use, please consult with your Healthcare Professional.
Will Nizoral help my spots/acne?
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo should only be applied to the scalp and used to treat and prevent dandruff.

Although these conditions relate to excess oil production, we'd recommend consulting your doctor if you are unsure of your symptoms.
Will Nizoral help with hair loss?
Nizoral is a medicinal shampoo to treat dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis with flaking and itching. If you are experiencing hair loss, you should consult your doctor.
Where can I buy blue-label Nizoral?
The blue label product is not a part of our UK range so we're not able to advise on this, unfortunately. It is an American product and has a formula with 1% ketoconazole in.
Does Nizoral have an expiry date?
Nizoral should not be used after the expiry date shown on the back of the bottle.
Please note that the expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Can I use Nizoral on bleached/ dyed/ permed hair?
We're pleased to confirm that Nizoral is suitable for all hair types. If you currently use a colour-saving shampoo, you can continue to use this on the lengths of your hair and focus Nizoral on the roots & scalp.
Will you release a vegan version of Nizoral without animal collagen?
Please note that we have recently acquired the Nizoral licences and do not currently manufacture the product ourselves. It is possible that we may investigate a formula change when we are in a position to bring manufacturing in-house.
Does Nizoral work also against my itchy scalp even if I don’t have dandruff?

Can I use Nizoral on hair extensions?
We have no information on file that suggests that Nizoral cannot be used with hair extensions.
What should I do if I get Nizoral in my eyes?
Nizoral should be kept away from the eye area. If the shampoo should get into the eyes, they should be bathed with water. Contact your doctor if further irritation occurs.
Can I use Nizoral on my facial hair?
We cannot recommend for the Nizoral Anti-dandruff Shampoo and Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo to be used on facial hair.
What is the recommended amount for the application of Nizoral?
We recommend using a small amount (approx 6ml) of Nizoral shampoo on a wet scalp before working into a lather and leaving on the scalp for 3-5 minutes and then rinsing thoroughly.

How long before should I see results with Nizoral?
Nizoral starts working from the first wash and can show visible results in 2 weeks. If your scalp has not cleared after 4 weeks, you may not have dandruff and should seek further advice from your pharmacist or doctor.
Can I use Nizoral if I have eczema/broken skin on my scalp?
We would recommend consulting your doctor or pharmacist before applying Nizoral to any broken skin on the scalp.
